Shirts provided are made from recycled products

MORGANTOWN — Been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt.
West Virginia University’s Adventure West Virginia program has given new meaning to that familiar slogan, thanks to a partnership with SustainU.
SustainU is a clothing company with a conscience. It was co-founded by West Virginia native Chris Yura as a company that’s focused on social, economic and environmental sustainability.
SustainU clothing is made entirely from post-consumer plastic bottles and post-industrial textile waste. Yes, that means it’s all recycled products.
They’re also produced right here in the USA in the same geographical region, which cuts down on the emissions from transporting the products from place to place.
Yura said the company decided to set up shop in North Carolina, which had once been a hotbed of textile manufacturing until companies began moving their operations overseas.
