You Are Your Business Seminar – April 13 & May 11, 2010

Topics of the business seminar are choosing legal structure, selecting a location, insurance, knowing your market, advertising, keeping your books, developing a business plan, taxes and financing your business. The finance section will be facilitated by a highly experienced lender who is our SBA microloan lender. The event is underwritten by the WV SBDC and Pierpont C&TC. OSHA Hazard Communication Class – April 6, 2010

Instructed by Ron Gacek, WV Department of Labor, topics include: the requirements for a written hazard communication program, discussion of methods for labeling chemicals and other forms of warnings to employees, review of how to read an MSDS, training requirements, and explanation of both employer and employee responsibilities under the Hazard Communication standard. OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Class – April 7, 8, and 9, 2010

Instructed by Ron Gacek, WV Department of Labor, the three-day class includes: materials handling, OSHA regulations, recordkeeping, hazard communication, introduction to industrial hygiene, fire protection, fire prevention plans, Lockout/Tagout, and much more. Morgantown Area Entrepreneurs Forum – May 11, 2010

“Taking Your Business Global” presented by Diego Gattesco, International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce. The event is scheduled from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Morgantown Municipal Airport ground floor training room of the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Building (to the right of the Terminal Building). Light refreshments are served and there is no charge for the event sponsored by the Morgantown Area Economic Partnership.
