As part of Diversity week, the WVU produced film “Welcome to the Party” was shown Monday night in the MountainLair’s Gluck Theatre. The movie educates viewers on the subject of sexual assault on college campuses. The plot focuses on three of the most common situations for sexual abuse. It was created by WVU students in June 2006 and has been distributed nationally to campuses and other institutions.
Before the film, Deb Beazley, sexual assault prevention education and response coordinator at WVU, spoke briefly about statistics concerning sexual assaults on college campuses. After the film, she lectured further about sexual assaults in general.
