(This may include establishing target market, positioning for accuracy, analyzing in-depth strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, forecasting corporate growth and trends, developing business, and coordinating both external and internal marketing strategies.)

With the fast-paced landscape of today’s business world, it is essential for new businesses to fully understand and utilize the latest technology. The WVU Business Incubator provides its tenants with access to the latest technology available: high-speed internet, wireless telephones, hardware and software training.
Finance and Accounting
Finance management is a key component to the success of any company, especially during the early stages of growth. The WVU Business Incubator staff can assist tenants with management of their financial matters. This may include support of basic bookkeeping, invoicing, job orders, payroll, and preparing taxes.
Corporate Services
In order to succeed, it is crucial that new businesses have a good understanding of the corporate environment in which they operate. Through the WVU Office of Technology Transfer, Incubator tenants have access to standard start-up corporate services including assistance in filing required state and federal forms. Tenants will also have the benefit of guidance to ensure protection of their intellectual property such as patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights.
The West Virginia Small Business Development Center
WVUBI also houses a division of the Small Business Development Center. The SBDC provides a wide variety of services to start-ups as well as small businesses. The SBDC also utilizes the WVUBI conference room to host seminars on topics such as “Financing Your Business” and “Registering Your Business.”
