Reel Insight LLC was formed to facilitate the sales, marketing, and distribution of the project Welcome to the Party. The primary objective of this project was to create a film that could become a powerful tool for rape and sexual assault prevention education on college and possibly high-school campuses. Funded by a grant from the West Virginia University Research Corporation, a team of artists were gathered by film makers Jerry McGonigle and Tom Nicholson to explore the dark world of rape and sexual assault in the inner sanctum of alcohol ridden college party life. Starting with no script but armed with passion and outrage, this group set out to create something honest and real that would say it like it is, and make an impact on the very real behavior that is all too prevalent on college campuses.
