WVU Business Incubator company, Protea Biosciences, Inc. will be featured at this year’s fourth annual 3 Rivers Venture Fair(3RVF) in Pittsburgh, PA on September 20-21.
3RVF matches small growth companies with financial resources. The environment allows a company such as Protea to further its business by providing investors the opportunity to view and learn more about the company in hopes of generating interest in investing in technology and sometimes the business themselves.
After a rigorous selection process which included a committee of 27 investors and venture capitalists reviewing 200 applicant business plans, 35 companies were chosen.
“We’re the first West Virginia Biotech company to be invited,” said Chief Executive Officer, Steve Turner. “We will be showcasing our new protein sample preparation instrument, the Protea Explorer. We’re excited to attend and have the opportunity for West Virginia to be represented.”
Protea Biosciences, Inc. (www.proteabio.com) develops new technology for improving protein sample processing and analysis with a focus on creating innovative products to support the critical needs of modern biology research.
Protea has been a part of the WVU Business Incubator since 2005. Located within the West Virginia University Research Corporation in Morgantown, West Virginia, the WVU Business Incubator was established in 2003 to promote economic development of early-stage businesses by providing resources, space, facilities and support services.
