Protea Biosciences has produced a prototype of a new instrument that is rapidly revolutionizing the development of protein identifying machines. The new machine, completed in March 2010, identifies proteins in tissues, cells, blood and urine, and other biological samples. The instrument, called the Laser Ablation Electrospray Ionization (LAESI) rapidly identifies proteins and can help researchers get information quickly and effectively – each analysis takes less than two seconds.
