Join us for another First Friday event! May’s First Friday will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009, at the Montmatre, located at the top of Hotel Morgan, at 127 High Street, in Morgantown. The fun and networking begins at 5:30. The Montmatre is offering free appetizers to all in attendance, and one free drink to those who attended the Generation West Virginia Young Leadership Conference. Join young, rising, and established leaders from different career fields and across the state to network, enhance your leadership skills, and learn how to advance your skills and our state’s young talent at the 2nd Annual WV’s Young Leadership Conference on the afternoon of Thursday, April 30th through Friday, May 1st at the Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown, WV. This year’s theme is Realizing What West Virginia Has to Offer! This conference is focused on promoting interaction between the younger generations in the workforce (those 21 to 45 years of age) with our state’s established leaders and for all of us to learn from those young leaders who are able to stay and be successful right here in West Virginia.

Generation Morgantown Town Forum Featured on WBOY
Generation Morgantown recently hosted the first of Generation West Virginia’s Town Forums at the new WVU Alumni Center. The event was hosted by WVU Interim Provost E. Jane Martin and was moderated by Scott Rotruck of Chesapeake Energy. Senator Rockefeller, Mayor Justice, Ken Buzz from the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce and other community leaders participated in the debate and discussions. The event achieved the goal of beginning broader public discussions on how to recruit, retain and advance young professionals across West Virginia.
