Advanced Technology Applications (ATA) licenses technology concepts that need additional funding for the proof of concept and works to secure funding to develop the proof of concept, build a prototype and commercialize the final product. ATA licenses technology from WVURC and sources outside of WVU for this commercialization process.

Linda Carson is the primary owner and conducts the day-to-day operations, product development and child wellness related training services. NexID Biometrics provides its customers with a systems-level approach to enhance biometric solutions utilizing the latest biometrics innovations. We offer liveness detection and other anti-spoofing technology for multiple biometrics. Our flagship product is software-based fingerprint liveness detection that exploits raw image characteristics between real fingers and spoof attacks.
Protea Biosciences, Inc. develops, manufactures, and markets innovative products that improve the ability to find and characterize proteins in biological samples. This is a critical area of need, because with current technology, the majority of proteins present in blood or cell samples go undetected. This limits the ability to find new biological targets to develop new therapeutic interventions for human disease.
Oculus Development, LLC is commercializing a sensor deployment system for the C-130 aircraft. The final Air Force approval for the system to fly on military C-130 aircraft should be completed in 2006. Oculus works directly with WVU inventors, homeland security and the military to develop sensors and applications for the system’s use.
