Protea Biosciences has completed a human trial on a new drug that would be used to treat chronic pancreatic disease.
The company is testing the safety and effectiveness of a genetically engineered enzyme that would be used to treat a condition common in people who have cystic fibrosis and pancreatic cancer.
A second human clinical trial for the drug is expected to start next year.
