Linda Carson was number 24 of the 100 Most Influential People in the Dominion Post. She was active in helping bring Dance Dance Revolution to West Virginia’s schools as part of a Choosy Kids, Inc program, encouraging children to lead active lives. In October, she was recognized by the Administration for Children and Families National Honor Award for Excellence in Partnering for an obesity-prevention initiation called “I Am Moving, I Am Learning.”
Carson said she modeled the program after strategies used in her children’s program at WVU. She uses her Choosy character - a green shades-and-ballcap-wearing antennaed creature - to help spread the message of making healthy choices early on.
