bridge day offers first in a series of green initiative collectible shirts

New River Gorge, W.Va. – For the first time in Bridge Day history, all official Bridge Day shirts will be made of 100 percent recycled materials. The shirts will also have an original Bridge Day label and will be produced by the West Virginia-based company, SustainU.

According to Chris Yura, owner and CEO of SustainU, “making all of the official Bridge Day apparel with recycled material will offer Bridge Day participants and spectators a unique opportunity to make an ecological impact.” The new Bridge Day label was created collaboratively with SustainU and will continue to be part of the Bridge Day shirts in the future.

This shirt will be the first official “Green Bridge Day Label,” consisting of 100 percent recycled material, all made in the USA. This is the only official shirt for 2010 Bridge Day, and a vital first step in making Bridge Day into a national and international Green Festival.

SustainU is an American enterprise that focuses on social, economic and environmental sustainability by producing high quality apparel from 100% recycled post-consumer plastics and textile waste. Their dedication to social awareness is changing the way people view clothing. SustainU’s corporate message truly embraces Bridge Day’s “it’s all about living” philosophy.

The Official Bridge Day shirts will be available on each end of the bridge right behind the Bridge Day tents and in south booth No. 10.
